About
Dr. Anita Mallya is a board-certified neurologist and neurocritical care specialist, certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Neurology and Neurocritical Care. She has extensive experience as a NeuroCritical Care and NeuroHospitalist attending physician, managing acute neurological emergencies including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and complex ICU-level neurologic injury across numerous hospital systems. She completed her NeuroCritical Care fellowship at Emory University Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, following an internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Albany Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She earned her M.D. from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and a B.A. in Neuroscience from Kenyon College. Dr. Mallya serves as a Medical Expert Reviewer for the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners, providing independent, impartial medical expertise in neurology and neurocritical care for the evaluation of medical records, standards of care, and compliance. She is licensed across multiple states and is an active member of the Neurocritical Care Society, the American Academy of Neurology, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Heart Association.
